Adrian Frutiger is one of the most renowned typographers who lived.  He began typesetting at a very young age by doing stylized handwriting and scripts. At 16, he studied at the school of applied arts, Kunstgewerbeschule in Zurich.

He was very passionate about typography his entire life and spent most of it preparing photo-typesetting and designing typefaces. His most famous and influential typefaces include Univers, Frutiger, and Avenir. Univers was known as a variant font and was commissioned for the new Charles de Gaulle International Airport. His career has spanned across multimedia platforms, including metal, photographic, and digital typesetting.  Fruitger won several awards and acknowledgements for typography, such as The Gutenberg Prize, Medal of the Type Directors Club, and Typography Award from SOTA.

For a tribute and a assignment for one of my graduate classes, I did a a Adriant Frutiger inspired concert poster. I tried to capture the spirit of his typeface and work.
